Most British social realism Dramas include certain conventions to make them a social realism drama, we will have to make sure our ideas include these conventions, they include:

- edge of society
- crime
- unemployed
- troubled
- drugs
- personal relationships
- real life situations
- reality
- rarely stylized and exaggerated
